The Emergent Field of Becoming is a theatrical installation that touches on a complex web of inquiries relating to climate change, industry-made chemicals, mytho-historical migration narratives, and pop-esoteric imagery.
At the center of this exhibition, a sculptural figure adorned with a glowing blue necklace peers downwards towards a LCD flat-screen where animated molecular structures of industrial chemicals arc and skitter across fossilized sediments. Washed in blues and greens, the central figure, inspired by the Irish epic of Cessair, wears a long tall hat that guides the eye towards a shimmering projection of rising waters, a calling poem, and ancient vessels of trade.
In title, The Emergent Field of Becoming, evokes paradoxical realities as relational sites of continual flow and interbeing.
